Keep track of Sac State’s transfer portal moves with this live tracker: Both the men’s and women’s basketball seasons are in the rearview mirror, but in the era of the name, image and likeness-driven transfer portal, there is no real offseason.

Head coach Mike Bibby’s Hornets lost two players to graduation, then an additional seven exited in the portal, highlighted by leading scorer senior guard Prophet Johnson, freshman forward Mark Lavrenov and redshirt sophomore guard Mikey Williams.

The women’s team lost their duo of redshirt senior guard Benthe Versteeg and senior forward Fatoumata Jaiteh, as well as six players in the portal. Ahead of his fourth season, head coach Aaron Kallhoff will need to rebuild half of his roster.

Follow along with this live and updating piece as Sacramento State rebuilds their rosters this offseason.

Sac State Men’s Basketball

Additions:

Ridvan Tutic, Center

Old Teams: Stonehill, Maine, New Hampshire

After one season at Stonehill, redshirt junior center Ridvan Tutic will be taking his talents to Sacramento for his senior year. The 6’11 center averaged 7.1 points and 7.8 rebounds last season, leading the conference in rebounding percentage and defensive rebounding percentage.

Prior to his year at Stonehill, Tutic played sparingly at both Maine and New Hampshire. He committed to Sac State on April 20.

New Team:

For a third straight season, redshirt sophomore guard Mikey Williams has entered the transfer portal. He averaged 17.1 and 4.5 assists on 36% shooting from the field, turned the ball over 2.9 times a game and shot 29% from deep. Williams was an integral part of Bibby’s first-year offense, but will look for a new team this offseason, entering the portal on April 16.

New Team: San Diego State

Senior forward Jeremiah “Bear” Cherry’s season was cut short by an injury, but he was dominant in his short stint. He averaged 15.5 points and 8.2 rebounds while blocking 2.3 shots a night, using his imposing size to command attention from opposing defenses.

Cherry was the first Sac State player to find a new home in the portal, committing to San Diego State on April 11.

New Team:

As Sac State’s leading scorer from last season,  senior guard Prophet Johnson entered the portal on April 7. In the last 15 games of the season, he took a leading role, averaging 21.9 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 43% from beyond the arc. He was rewarded with an All-Big Sky Second Team selection, winning Big Sky Player of the Week twice.

Johnson, along with Cherry, should be in line for a major move upwards.  Unlike Cherry, he’ll need a waiver to play basketball in 2026-2027. He’s received interest from Illinois, Miami, University of Southern California and Notre Dame among other schools.

Mark Lavrenov, Forward

New Team:

When Cherry went down with injury, freshman forward Mark Lavrenov was thrust into a major role, acting as the team’s primary center for the rest of the season. He performed admirably, averaging 11.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in his extended role.

A local talent from Rocklin High School, Lavrenov grew as a passer and a shooter, and was an elite pick and roll operator with both Williams and Johnson, providing a consistent source of offense. His efforts would not go unnoticed, and he entered the portal on April 2.

New Team:

As a lights-out shooter with a flair for the dramatic, junior guard Jahni Summers hit the portal on March 26. His shooting was often a release valve for the Hornets, and provided much-needed spacing.

He shot 42% from deep on 4.4 attempts a game, and played active perimeter defense, picking up 1.3 steals a game.

Jayden Teat, Guard

New Team:

Freshman guard and Sacramento-native Jayden Teat showed flashes of high-octane offense in his limited playing time, averaging 11.4 points in the games where he played in over 20 minutes.

For the second time in his career, having transferred from Utah after his first season, Teat entered the portal on April 7.

New Team:

The senior forward appeared in five games for the Hornets, scoring four points and grabbing seven rebounds in 25 total minutes of play. He entered the portal on April 7.

The Stony Brook and San Diego transfer played at Sierra Canyon High School alongside Bronny James, son of LeBron James.

Old Teams: Long Island, Alabama State

After two years at Alabama State, senior guard Koko Akridge transferred to Long Island and put up career-highs across the board. She averaged 9.4 points, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals, shooting 34% from deep on 5.9 attempts.

In an 11 game stretch in the middle of the season, Akridge shot 46% from three, pushing her scoring average up to 13.1 points a game. She committed to Sac State on April 13, returning to her home state of California.

Alexis Hess, Forward

Old Team: Kansas State

Injuries limited redshirt freshman forward Alexis Hess to just four game appearances in two years at Kansas State. Prior , she was a highly regarded high school prospect, earning a McDonald’s All-American nomination in 2023. She committed to Sac State on April 10.

Achol Magot, Forward

Old Teams: Arizona, Texas Tech

In her junior season, forward Achol Magot began carving out a role for herself at Arizona, averaging 8.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in the games that she played more than 10 minutes in.

At 6’7, she’ll bring major size to Sac State’s interior and become the tallest woman signed to the program in history. She committed to Sac State on April 22.

Old Team: Memphis

Freshman guard Brooklynn Charlo played sparingly in her first season of college basketball, but started five games for the Tigers. Prior to Memphis, she played at IMG Academy and helped them win the 2025 High School National Championship.

Out of high school, she was given a four-star rating and was considered a top 150 recruit. She committed to Sac State on April 22.

Subtractions:

Rubi Gray, Guard

New Team: Fresno State

Sophomore guard Rubi Gray broke out in her second season with the Hornets, leading the team in scoring. She averaged 14.2 points on 51% true shooting, starting all 33 of Sac State’s games.

She entered the portal on March 31, and committed to Fresno State on April 13.

New Team: Idaho

After two years playing NAIA at the University of Providence, junior forward Keanna Salave’a featured as a key rotation piece for the Hornets. She started 10 games, averaging 6.4 points and 5.9 rebounds. Salave’a entered the transfer portal on March 31.

On April 22, she committed to Idaho, the team that eliminated Sac State in the Big Sky tournament.

Brooklyn Taylor, Guard / Forward

New Team: Norfolk State

Sophomore forward Brooklyn Taylor developed in her second season at Sac State, posting career-highs in points, rebounds and assists, but struggled to find consistent playing time.

In a nine-game stretch to start the year, she averaged 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. She entered the portal, and committed to Norfolk State on April 7.

Noemi Arvai, Forward

New Team:

Sophomore forward Noemi Arvai missed the 2025-2026 season due to injury after playing sporadic minutes in her freshman season. The native-Hungarian competed for her nation in the FIBA U16 championships in 2022. She entered the portal on April 2.

Elisa Lehgissa, Forward

New Team:

Freshman forward Elisa Lehgissa appeared in five games for the Hornets, averaging 2.2 points a game. Prior to her time at Sac State, she played for USE Rosa Scotti Empoli, a professional team in Italy. She entered the portal in early April.

Sophia Lee, Guard

New Team:

Junior guard Sophia Lee didn’t play in 2025-2026 and averaged 1.7 points a game in her first two seasons with the Hornets. Lee began her career at BYU, but took a redshirt season before transferring to Sac State. She entered the portal in early April.
